There’s no better way to show you care than donating to a good cause and burning some calories while you’re at it! A Spin-a-Thon is just like a walk-a-thon, except that participants cycle on stationary bikes rather than walking. Cyclists gather and members trade off cycling time to raise money through sponsors and donations. One hour is all it takes to help make a significant positive impact in the life of a local family. Your participation in this event will help support those in need in our community; all proceeds raised will benefit the Elanna Zuller Memorial Sports Fund, and your registration gets you a Tshirt and bike.
This is not a competitive event; there is not a set intensity or distance to travel. Qualified instructors leading a 45 min long class back to back, while driving rhythms encourage you throughout the day. Just like other spin classes, you will follow your instructor, who will guide you on a virtual tour up and down hills and over mountains. This will be done by changing the resistance on your bike, which entirely in your control. There will also be Kettle Bell demos, Circuit Training and Boot camp demos, for adults and kids going on throughout the day. There will also be crafts for the kids to do!
Join us as we pedal with a purpose! Help us make this Spin-A-Thon the best yet!!
How It Works
All are welcome! Whether this is your first time on a bike or you’re a spinning guru, this is the event for you. It’s not as tough as you think; you just have to cycle for 45 minutes.
The first step is to register for the event. The registration fee is $10 per rider, which reserves your bike and Tshirt. You should register promptly, because bikes are limited. As soon as you register you can start fundraising. Choose to sign up to a team or just ride your hour. All registered riders will receive an event t-shirt, and food and drinks for the day.
All participants should arrive at Body Armour one hour prior to the start time. Which you can pick. Times are 8am-12pm. At that time, all donations will need to be turned in. There will be staff to help fit you on your bike and to give a demonstration on how the bike works.
